A very select group of local photographers accepted our invitation to submit their photographs of the local surroundings in Whitehorse, Boroondara and Manningham.The quality of work we received was both of a high standard and beautifully demonstrated the attractions of our region.
The entrants work was judged by a panel of Doncaster Camera Club members. They competed for the prize of a $70 Teds Camera Store voucher for the winner and a $30 voucher for the runner up. The winner and runner up will also receive a complimentary year’s membership of the Doncaster Camera Club.

Terms and conditions
Entrant Eligibility
The Competition is open to amateur photographers residing in the Cities of Boroondara, Manningham, Whitehorse and adjoining areas. Entrants may be asked to verify that they meet the eligibility requirements for the Competition.
Categories
There are two categories:
- Open – amateur photographers of any age residing in the Cities of Boroondara, Manningham, Whitehorse and adjoining areas
- Under 16 years of age – participants aged below 16 will require parental permission to enter
Photograph requirements
- Photographs must be taken within the Cities of Boroondara, Manningham, Whitehorse and adjoining areas. DCC members will not be eligible to enter.
- Each must be photographed by the entrant. A maximum of two photographs per entrant is allowed.
- Photographs can be taken with any camera or phone.
- Photographs must be entered as jpgs less than 2 mb in size.
- Each photograph will require an Author’s name and the name of the photograph.
- Photo development is permitted but must be undertaken by entrant.
- Photographs containing an image of a living person must be accompanied by a photo consent form signed by that person. Photographs must not contain inappropriate content
Submission Requirements
- Entries should be submitted as a jpg by email to doncastercameraclub@gmail.com and accompanied by a completed entry form
- Entry is free.
- Entries close Tuesday 15 October 2024. No late entries will be accepted.
Copyright
Each photographer retains copyright of their images.
In submitting a photograph as part of the Competition, the entrant:
- warrants that the photograph is their original work and that they are the copyright owner of the photograph;
- provides Doncaster Camera Club and Eastsider News with permission to use with attribution any submitted photograph for publication in Eastsider News and display at Doncaster Camera Club events or in their newsletter or website.
Judging
The judging panel will be qualified members of the Doncaster Camera Club.
The competition closes on Tuesday 15 October 2024. The results will be announced in the November 2024 edition of Eastsider News, to be published online early in November at https://www.eastsidernews.org.au/
The winners will be selected by the judges based on relevance, artistic merit, technical merit, originality and creativity. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into regarding the Competition.
Prizes
Prizes for both categories are a $70 Teds Camera Store voucher for each winner and a $30 voucher for each runner up. Winners and Runners up will also receive a complimentary one-year membership of the Doncaster Camera club. Prizes are equally sponsored by Ted’s Cameras and Doncaster Camera Club.
