Kew Philharmonic Chamber Choir
Kew Philharmonic Chamber Choir is a small and well established choir. We perform two concerts per year and would love some new choristers to join us. We are always looking for singers who love early music repertoire, the beautiful music composed before around 1800.
The Choir performs both accompanied and unaccompanied, sometimes in combination with various early instruments. It sings choral music from across the centuries, from the 15th to the 21st. It has an emphasis on early repertoire such as Zipoli, Telemann, Tomkins, Fux, Zelenka, and Monteverdi.
The current director, Stephen Kerr, joined the choir in 2007. He is keen to encourage younger members and provide an avenue for those interested in singing early music. He is a professional pianist, organist and teacher and is also Director of Music at Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Kew.
The Choir currently rehearses in Kew, on Monday nights. While many choir members have been singing with the Kew Philharmonic for a considerable period of time, we are always enthusiastic about welcoming and mentoring new young singers who have an interest in fine sacred and secular music.
If you are interested in joining the choir, please contact us by email here. To find out more about the choir and their concerts go to our website here.
