The Painted Sculture

An exhibition of figurative 3D works by Efrossini Chaniotis

Ladder Art Space, 81 Denmark St. Kew, Melbourne

Wednesday 15 June to Saturday 2 July

The ancient Greeks painted on their sculptures, in the same way Greek-Australian artist Efrossini Chaniotis has always painted on hers. Having studied sculpture in Australia and painting in Greece, Efrossini’s practice naturally combined both. Her vibrant colour palette is reflective of growing up ‘down+under’ and her propensity for storytelling, myth and exploration of Mediterranean themes, the indelible imprint of a rich cultural heritage.

The Opening Celebration is on Thursday 16 June 16 from 6.30 to 8.30PM

Gallery Hours: Tuesday to Friday 12 to 6 pm, Saturday 11 am to 6 pm, Friday and Saturday evenings by appointment

Olives to Oil Harvest Festival

Oakleigh

18th and 19th June

Olives to Oil is an annual community festival bringing people together to harvest unused olives from neighbourhood trees. The olives are pressed into oil which is given back to people who help with the harvest. The festival celebrates and highlights the importance of local food in our communities as well as recognising the wonderful heritage of diverse food cultures we enjoy.

In partnership with The Corner Store Network , 3000 acres is excited to be bringing Olives to Oil to Oakleigh again in 2022. On the 18th and 19th June, harvest and bring us your olives to be pressed into delicious oil by our friends at Barfold Olives.

Oil will be available for collection in July.  Go here to find out more.

3000acres is a CERES social enterprise focused on empowering Melbourne communities to grow fresh, healthy food and transform underutilised land into great community spaces.
